Brand Identity for Kilmora

Kilmora is a brand promoted by Kumaun Grameen Udyog, a not-for-profit organisation, committed to enhancing the incomes of rural communities in the Kumaun Himalayas. The product range consists of woven and knitted products and food products that are manufactured locally and retailed through select outlets and fairs.


The typographic identity for Kilmora captures the simplicity and sincerity of mission, of the organisation and community, located in the picturesque hills of Kumaun. The geographical location of the brand, was an important aspect for communication, visible through the products, raw materials and makers. Packaging solutions for the entire range of Kilmora products, from herbs to hand woven garments, were also designed as part of the retail identity design. The functionality of the packaging ideas was rooted in the organisation’s need for economical and readily available materials. Packaging graphics aimed to establish a distinctive shelf identity for the brand, promising quality, affordability and sincerity of their effort to fuel developmental work in the Kumaun villages.
