Sculptural Direction
The design for Chimes Group’s new corporate building was an extensive exercise in signage and way-finding. Beyond functionality, the design mandated the signage and way-finding to be used as sculptural elements within the space, as part of the environmental and spatial experience. Codesign was involved in identifying visitor flow patterns and signage locations, and the subsequent design, which required material and production-level detail. Signage included Building Identification, Directory, Floor-Level Signage, Occupant Signage Systems and Mandatory Signs. A custom family of pictograms and selected alpha-numeric letterforms were designed exclusively for the project.
